Contrordine dal Cairo, non si pubblicano autori israelian

Ieri avevamo ripreso la notizia che l'Egitto aveva finalmente deciso di tradurre alcuni autori israeliani, facendola seguire da un " ohibò " quale nostro commento. Facevamo bene a stupirci. Infatti è arrivata subito la smentita, uscita sul DAILY NEWS EGYPT, che accusa l'agenzia FRANCE PRESS di falso. Chi si era illuso che la cultura egiziana, controllata da Farouk Hosny (per saperne di più su di lui, vedere nel nostro archivio) avesse cambiato registro, si prepari ad una attesa che temiamo ancora lunga. Ecco il testo uscito sul giornale egiziano in lingua inglese:
CAIRO: A culture ministry official has denied reports that Egypt will publish Arabic translations of novels by renowned Israeli writers Amos Oz and David Grossman for the first time. An official at the head of the translations center Gaber Asfour's office told Daily News Egypt in a telephone interview that a report by Agence France-Presse (AFP) was false. In an AFP article published Thursday, Asfour was quoted as saying, "I hope to have signed an agreement with their English and French publishers by early July, without going via the Israeli publishers," referring to the works of Oz and Grossman.
